The River Moy which is one of the most famous salmon fishing rivers in Europe, and is the most prolific salmon river in Ireland.

Average annual rod and line caught salmon over the past few years have been 8,000 to 10,000 fish. Approximately 50% of these salmon were caught within a few miles radius of Foxford the Angling Capital of the Moy.

Foxford is also famous for it's Woollen Mills. 
The visitor's centre is a very popular tourist attraction.

William Brown, founder of the Argentine Navy was born in Foxford, where he is remembered by a bronze bust by the Argentine sculptor Vergottini.
