Foxford is attractively
located between the Ox Mountains and Neiphin range and situated on
the banks of the river Moy which is one of the most famous salmon
fishing rivers in Europe, and is the most prolific salmon river in
Ireland.

Average annual rod and line caught salmon over the past few years
have been 8,000 to 10,000 fish. Approximately 50% of these salmon
were caught within a few miles radius of Foxford the Angling Capital
of the Moy.

Jackie is a qualified fishing guide with
years of experience fishing the Moy and surrounding rivers and
lakes. This fishing would include salmon, wild brown trout.
Sea trout, on lakes Conn and Cullin the great
Western lakes, and also pike fishing. If
you would like to go deep-sea fishing we will arrange this for you
Walking - The Foxford Way
The Foxford Way is an 86km way marked trail which circles the town
of Foxford taking in the Ox Mountains, boreens, boglands,
archeological sites, lakeshores and river banks.
In addition to having a wealth of flora and fauna, The Foxford Way
is also rich in archaeological and historic sites.
The Foxford Walking Club regularly take to the trails and tracks of
the Bealach on a Sunday afternoon.
Throughout the summer there are regular guided walks along various
sections of the way.
Golf in Mayo
Mayo has some superb golf from 9 hole par 3 courses to full 18 hole
courses.
